Halloween is a time when scary things populate front yards, and run the streets. However, going to the dentist should not be scary. At Daniel N. Galaif, DDS our warm and caring staff is focused on your comfort and safety. From our Encino, California office, we have beautiful views that provide a relaxing setting during your dental visit. Whether it’s a routine cleaning or more in depth work, we work to minimize your discomfort or anxiety with the state-of-the-art numbing procedures, nitrous oxide, or even anesthesia if you prefer to be asleep while your dental work is performed. This can be beneficial for patients who fear dental procedures, or experience anxiety while sitting in the dental chair.
Patients always ask us about candy on Halloween – what kinds their kids should avoid, and how much they should be allowed to eat. Since this is just a once a year thing, most of the candy they get is fine to eat. It should obviously be wrapped in store bought packaging, and they should stay away from the chewy, gummy bear type candy that can get stuck in their teeth. It’s a fun night for kids, and we encourage a healthy and safe experience. Studies show that kids appreciate boundaries, so it’s not a bad idea to place a limit beforehand on how many pieces of candy you will allow them to eat on Halloween night.
Hope you and your family have a fun, safe and healthy Halloween. We look forward to seeing you soon!
